Job Description:
A highly motivated individual to be Software Reliability Engineer (SRE) within the Global Data & Analytics team. The SRE would own up to five products data reliability within the Global Data & Analytics team. This role is responsible for understanding at a Macro and Micro Level how our products data reliability and how to maintain it, balancing the needs of proactively addressing data quality measures from new product deliverables and reacting to product reliability problems by understanding failures within production and working proactively through their team to resolve the issues. The SRE intimately understands the product pipelines to assit the teams in their work to resolve issues, they are able to collaborate with other SREs within technology teams to minimize the effects of data quality issues. The SRE feeds into the Product Owner work required to lower data quality issues and run costs of the solutions.
Key Accountabilties
Product knowledge and strategy for the future - Technical and business understandingMastery of Your product
Serve as an expert going deep on how your products work. Understand the data ingest, transform, load, table structures -both inbound and outbound
Understand the technical components of your products and be able to identify key stakeholders
Recognize product performance from an end-user standpoint including data quality, responsiveness, reliability, etc.
Be able to engage in a conversation on all technical aspects of your products, and require others’ input only to go particularly deep
Mastery of the technology Product Data Reliability process
Continuously assess reoccurring product issues and create remediation plans
Continuously assess breached Data Quality monitors and drive remediation plans to closure
Continuously assess breached Error Budget monitors and drive remediation plans to closure
Liaise with operations/support and ensure expedited resolution of P1/P2 production issues
Be able to engage in discussions regarding whether your product is using the right solutions to address DQ issues, and always looking forward to continuously evolve and improve
Ensure product development is aligned to architecture principles and NFRs
Stakeholdering / Customer Obsession - Keeping customers top of mindOwn the product data quality
Accountable for executing required data remediations identified through the GTDR process
Prioritize production issues so Product Owner can more effectively define Sprints workload
Working with Product Managers to ensure reliability issues are prioritized and remediated
Maintain knowledge management documentation of products to provide Run Ops Team with skill set to succeed
Accountable for reducing MTTR, MTTD overall
Ensuring our end customer use cases are accounted for in our monitoring
Be customer obsessed - ensure your products are working well and evolving appropriately
Ensure Critical Data Elements are monitored, and issues are proactively addressed
Ensure Product reliability and quality, especially data quality for core data-centric product
Conduct Data Quality rule acceptance of features and epics according to the definition of done
Be an advocate for the end-user experience
Work on ensuring long term automation and reducing technical debt
Collaboration Capability - Working with others across the organizationBe the catalyst for collaboration
Collaborate with Product Manager and Delivery Lead and ensure implementation of PDR principles in product build
Join forces with other SREs across the organization (within data and upstream) to ensure alignment and coordination across products as necessary for multi-product work and initiatives
Champion Data Reliability within team and to wider audiences
Cascade SRE knowledge into the data domain
Auditing runops teams
Lead annual audit processes of runops team to ensure team are maintaining knowledge and accountability of the product

Technical Proficiency
Preferred: Experience with AWS environment or other Cloud Environment
Experience working with data and analytics products.
Preferred: Business intelligence products in the enterprise space
Working knowledge of cloud-based data systems
Knowledge of devOps and data reliability
Knowledge of the Agile methodology
Experience working with and managing a large professional services partner with on and offshore resources
SQL experience on large complex data sets is strongly preferred.
