Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team will focus on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. This is a net new line of business, constructed with an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes an energetic and creative environment. We’re looking for Site Reliability Developer for our dedicated SaaS Infrastructure and Operations team that work on provisioning extensible, secure, and reliable infrastructure to our customers. This team performs on-going operational/security maintenance and operates with an extreme customer focus.
SRD is expected to provision infrastructure, solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence in a dedicated infrastructure and operations team. Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, security and efficiency of our products and services. Facilitate incident management, service capacity planning, operational/security maintenance, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
Responsibilities
Work with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission-critical stack, with a focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as an ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and the dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.
Responsibilities
We are building a team of energetic, customer-focused site reliability engineers to build a world-first and best in class customer experience blending sys admin, database engineering, and cloud disciplines. You’ll be part of a team that learns deeply about how our cloud platform works so you can be the bridge between Engineering and Operations.
As part of the broader engineering organization, you will have the ability to influence features and improve the service experience. This role is critical to the success of the platform.
Responsibilities:
Drives and actively participates in the resolution of complex technical issues spanning multiple Cloud services and works towards ensuring service availability goals remain intact by developing solutions to complex problems and incidents.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex Infrastructure and DevOps challenges.
Create and deliver the best practices recommendations, sample code, and technical documents.
Contribute to making our infrastructure simple, secure, reliable, and easy to operate.
Participate in the design and provisioning of infrastructure to Oracle Database Backup and Recovery Cloud Service features.
Define and develop monitoring infrastructure criteria (SLIs, SLOs).
Solve complex and difficult problems and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
Participate in incident management, operational/security maintenance, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
