  NATURE OF WORK:

  Performs technical skill level duties, which include, but are not limited to signal inspections, plans review, field locates, administrative duties for Traffic Signal Maintenance section. This position is in constant contact with contractors, consultants and engineering personnel. This includes all new installations, changes or upgrades to City of Orlando signal equipment. These installations include Orlando's Computerized Signal System, fiber optic and hard wire network throughout the City and outlying areas. Administrative duties include correspondence to all parties involved in the construction projects, tracking and recording all prints, proposals, faxes, etc. This position must critique blue prints to resolve any conflict or potential problems that could occur prior to construction.

  Minimum Requirements

  High school graduate plus two (2) years experience in traffic control equipment installation required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Florida driver license required; Class B Commercial Driver License preferred, or must obtain within one (1) year of hire. Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel) preferred.

  International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level I Traffic Signal Technician certification preferred, or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.

  IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician certification desired, or must obtain within two (2). years of hire.

  IMSA Level I Traffic Signal Inspector certification desired, or must obtain within two (2) year of hire.

  DOCUMENTATION OF IMSA CERTIFICATES, IF ANY, SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN ONLINE APPLICATION OR IN ATTACHED RESUME.

  VALID DRIVER LICENSE (OR COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE EQUIVALENT TO A FLORIDA CLASS B) FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE. VALID FLORIDA CDL CLASS B MUST BE OBTAINED WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF HIRE.
