  Pay is based upon education and experience.The Shop Lead/ Quality Control Inspector assists and develops technicians inall phases of troubleshooting and repair of equipment in a manner thatreflects the companys vision of working as One Professional Team and serves asthe main contact between the shop personnel and Technical Services Departmentconcerning problems that arise during the repair of the equipment. The shoplead is also responsible for the leadership and development of technicians intheir area.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform these essential functions.As time allows, ensures work orders are complete, service reports arefilled out correctly, and all parts are returned before the job is turned inWorks with other shops in coordinating the repair of different componentsHelps ensure a safe and productive working environment in the shopWorks closely with the Shop Manager and Service Writer to keep them updated onthe status and problems of the equipment in the shopWorks closely with the Service Writer in resolving all scheduling conflictsEnsures effective communication between customers and Service WriterAssists, supervises, and trains technicians in troubleshooting andrepairing equipmentWhere applicable, works closely with the Inspector on the reporting of thediscrepancies between customer requested repairs and those found duringincoming inspectionsWorks with all shop personnel to ensure that the shop is kept clean,organized, safe, and is accountable for the safety of technicians in theirresponsible areaAssists in estimating repairs or reconditionsOther duties as assigned by managerComing with process and proceduresParts reusable specialist/ championCarrying out inspections and testing on materials, products, and equipmentto guarantee that they are up to the relevant requirements and standards.Required Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED5 years experience in the troubleshooting and repair of Caterpillar heavyequipment3-5 years administrative/clerical experience3-5 years customer service experienceSupervisory Responsibilities:Assists in the scheduling of the techniciansWhen the need arises, fills in for the Shop Manager and/or Service Writerin her/his absenceProvides information and feedback for performance reviews, and mayparticipate in the actual review meetingsCompletes first drafts of technician reviews for management approvalPhysical Demands & Competencies:Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearingData Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational,communication & math skillsSafety & Pro uct KnowledgeAbility to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds ormoreBasic knowledge of Microsoft WordIntermediate knowledge of DMS and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STWService LinkWork Environment:Noise: LoudIndoors and OutdoorsOther Duties:Job Offers are contingent upon all required pre-employment screenings whichmay include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcoholtesting, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain acomprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that arerequired of the employee for this job.
