1st Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday
Pay:
$20/hr
Scope of job:
Perform live-fire test and evaluation of all Smith & Wesson firing barrels, actions, and/or fully-functioning firearms using either a shooting fixture or range setting.
Education and Experience:
High School/GED preferred
Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
Prior safe firearm handling/shooting experience
Ability to demonstrate proficiency with all firearms with little to no initial training
Competencies and Skills:
Appropriate training and experience to fulfill all requirements of work duties described above
Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions, simple written memos and instructions)
Basic computer and keyboarding skills required
Active FID/LTC preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Testing and evaluating all S&W firearms to a set of quality standards established by the company
Evaluating function and targeting criteria for all S&W products
Evaluating accuracy of firearms using pass/fail criteria
Following a standardized process to safely test firearms
Completing paperwork to track business metrics
Logging pass/fail data for each firearm/serial number in a computerized data collection system
Following Lean initiatives and participating in continuous improvement activities
Performing serial number audits/counts as required
Maintaining a clean work space
Working as a member of the shooting range staff to ensure high quality products reach our customers
Comply with range lead program

Works in a manufacturing environment
Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
Able to stand, sit, stoop, squat and walk

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required: Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor. The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
