Job Description Summary
The Asheville Shipping/Receiving Associate will work in a manufacturing environment and will be responsible for handling all aspects of shipping and receiving for the facility. The Associate will also be responsible to keep accurate records and complete visual inspections on hardware. On the shipping side, they package items, print labels, and work with various shipping vendors and customers.
Job Description
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Utilize computer programs to perform and accomplish all aspects of safely shipping and receiving aircraft engine hardware
Complete required steps in designated software system(s) and print required documents for hardware to ensure tracking and compliance
Compliantly store and retrieve paperwork and check serial numbers for accuracy
Deliver parts to operation stations throughout the facility
Ensure all operations have been completed and stamped off in the designated software system
Ensure parts/ hardware are assigned to OSP (outside service provider) in designated software system
Have open and direct communication with Material Planner(s) to ensure parts are shipped to correct OSP and/ or location/customer
Follow specifics requirements based on shipping methods (ex. FedEx, XPO, etc.) and how it’s prioritized
Create and label boxes appropriately
Ability to pack and box hardware/ parts for shipping
Build boxes and lids for shipping parts and label to ensure they are returned to the site after shipment
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma, or GED equivalent
Required to have a valid Driver’s License
One year experience working with computer applications, preferably shipping and receiving programs
One year experience reading, following, and implementing written procedures and instructions
One year experience in a shipping and receiving position
Capacity to handle physically demanding body positions (crouching, kneeling, stooping, etc.) and lift up to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications:
Flexibility to work all shifts on a temporary basis to meet business needs (ex. training, temporary coverage, etc.)
Ability to be flexible, cross-train, and work together as a team
Proficiency with computer applications (Outlook email, shop floor applications, etc.)
Organizational skills.
Ownership of productivity throughout shift (ex. filling in where needed, etc.)
Experience operating a forklift
