The shelter is open 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. We are seeking two part-time individuals to work weekends, with other shifts during the week as needed.
Current available shifts include:
Swing Shift - 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Day Shift - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
The Shelter Monitor must follow organization's Policies and Procedures. The Shelter Monitor is responsible for maintaining the security of the building and clients, answering the phone, admitting clients and completing the intake process during the evening and/or waking clients in the morning (depending on scheduled hours), making and serving breakfast or dinner and sack lunches, and completing daily scheduled chores. Other duties may be assigned based on need.
The Shelter Monitor must:
Have excellent interpersonal skills, especially the ability to manage clients experiencing mental and physical challenges.
Have experience cooking and preparing nutritious meals
Have working knowledge of computers and email programs.
Have an understanding and empathy for those who suffer the conditions of poverty and homelessness
Have the ability to follow directions from supervisors
Have a High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
The Shelter Monitor is required to:
Have or be able to get a valid Utah driver's license upon hire.
Have or be able to get a food handler's permit upon hire.
