Sheet Metal Helper

　　Basic Scope/Purpose

　　Assist the mechanic with the installation of duct supports and sheet metal ducts,

　　Responsible for keeping the work area clean and organized, they are also responsible for doing many minor tasks as required by the mechanic, from cutting all-thread rod or Unistrut, going to get material, picking up and taking out the trash, and various other task that change on a daily basis.

　　Essential Functions/Duties

　　Must be capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 35 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

　　Physical activity requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work and include significant walking or standing or pushing or pulling of arm or leg controls or working at a production rate.

　　Work easily and skillfully with hands; Climb and maintain balance on scaffold.

　　See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors.

　　Reach for, handle, and grasp duct and hand tools.

　　Bend, crouch, and work in small places occasionally; and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

　　Working Conditions/Physical Effort

　　Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.

　　Toolbox with lock. Hammer, 25’ tape measure, 9/16 ratchet wrench or ratchet with socket,

　　5/16, ¼ and 3/8 nut drivers, large and medium flat head screwdriver.
