　　Pay Rate: $16/hr.

　　Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1 st Shift: 5:00am – 1:30pm or 2 nd Shift: 1:00pm – 9:30pm. Available for Overtime and weekends as needed.

　　Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

　　What is a Sewing Machine Operator?

　　The Sewing Machine Operator will be running industrial equipment that attaches various fabrics and materials on oversized advertising pieces that are typically seen hanging in department stores and malls. The operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining the machine, cutting material and following specifications set for the client’s order.

　　Duties and Responsibilities:

　　• Assembles graphics and hems per established work instructions utilizing Matic/Consew sewing machines

　　• This includes sewing beading to fabric, applying hardware and fasteners and using decorative seams

　　• Operates sewing machines using foot lever and hand control, with the ability to QC product on the fly

　　• Aligns fabric, backing, aluminum stays, elastic, Velcro, follows seams, edges, or marking

　　• Sews parts with various types of stitches such as vertical stitched OR straight stitched

　　• Changes needles and threads machines as needed

　　• Performs quality of work inspections for all seams sewn

　　• Performs minor maintenance on machines as needed including re-threading and replacing of needles as necessary

　　Education and Experience:

　　• High School diploma or GED equivalent

　　• Experience with Sewing or Embroidery Machine is required

　　Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

　　• Minimum 2 years’ experience in production sewing environment

　　• Prior experience in sewing/textile industry utilizing related machines preferred

　　• Ability to communicate (Read, speak, write, understand) in English

　　• Understand procedures and standards set forth by company and department

　　• Ability to perform mathematical calculations

　　• Uncompromising attention to detail

　　• Available for weekend work schedules and overtime as needed

　　• Required to lift a minimum of 30 lbs

　　• Standing: Standing for lengthy periods of time

　　• Must be able to sew consistent seams, straight alignment with cover pattern and no dropped stitches
