Job Description:-Set-up techs are responsible for setting up, tearing down, andmaintenance of extrusion tooling and downstream equipment. Alsoresponsible for producing and inspecting quality products and followingcompany procedures and work instructions. Job Duties: 1. Skill andknowledge in set-up, teardown and maintenance of extrusion tooling. 2.Knowledge of plastics material including: identification, processingcharacteristics and regrind system. 3. Responsible for the set-up andoperation of single and twin screw extruders, auxiliary and downstreamequipment 4. Ability to operate forklift 5. Produce quality productsfollowing extrusion set-up sheets, company procedures and workinstructions. 6. Complete extrusion dimensional charts, check sheets andrequired documentation. Responsible for the updating of set-up sheetsand documentation as required. 7. Ability to inspect parts per thespecification sheet requirements using: a. Calipers b. Gages and Matingparts c. Digital rule and Tape Measures d. Spectrophotometer e. Glossmeter 8. Troubleshoot extrusion problems including providing assistanceto associates on other extrusion line when needed. 9. Contribute ideasto improve the efficiency of operations and quality of products. 10.Participate in solving problems and implementing corrective andpreventive actions. 11. General housekeeping of plant and maintenance ofequipment. 12.
