Summary:
The ServiceNow Admin/Developer is an experienced ServiceNow administrator and developer who engages in a broad range of platform configuration and development activities. Admin and development responsibilities span various modules and applications, including ITSM, HR, ITAM, Project, and the CMDB. While responsibilities can span the entire platform, the primary focus is in building ITSM solutions and maximizing ServiceNow value for the business.
The ServiceNow Admin/Developer works as part of a team to deliver value in a large, complex, fast-paced environment. The ServiceNow team is responsible for all facets of support, administration, configuration, and development. This includes responding to complex customer needs, maintaining security, providing continuity, and ensuring the platform delivers maximum value in support of organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Understand how ServiceNow enables business outcomes.
• Provide viable and efficient solutions for those outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance on achieving goals via recommended features, functionality, and design.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow according to business needs.
• Understand the impact of security and compliance on platform design and data.
• Perform day to day maintenance and configurations in ServiceNow.
• Develop systems integrations and process automation.
• Configure and improve core platform capabilities in accordance with ITIL best practices.
• Scope and implement effective enhancements and changes.
• Work within Agile release schedules and processes.
• Engage in the continual improvement of ServiceNow configuration and service management design.
• Manage customer portals according to business needs.
• Assess the health of the ServiceNow instance and maintain integrity of the platform.
• Perform updates and releases, including planning and testing.
• Provide data as requested.
• Assist in building and maintaining internal technical documentation, manuals, policies, and processes.
• Assist with application and platform upgrades.
• Provide general support, administration, and maintenance of ServiceNow platform.
• Respond to customer incidents and requests.
• Provide guidance for less senior developers.
Other information:
Required Job Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of direct experience in administration and development across the ServiceNow Platform, especially in the ITSM space.
• Direct experience with the design and implementation of ITSM capabilities in ServiceNow.
• Broad experience in the ServiceNow platform, including multiple applications, process automation, the service catalog, integrations, and portals.
• Experience with translating business needs into technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
• ServiceNow Admin Certification.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Experience using JavaScript, XML, and HTML, ServiceNow Development APIs, AngularJS, SQL, and custom ServiceNow App Development are all helpful
• Knowledge of ServiceNow ITAM, CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping is helpful
• ITIL certifications or related IT Service Management credentials
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or similar is preferred. Work experience is considered in lieu of a degree.
Competencies:
• Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and technologies.
• Able to work with customers and the business in order to understand business needs and translate those needs into technical solutions.
• Expert knowledge in ITSM frameworks, especially ITIL.
• Ability to work within an Agile framework for development and release schedules.
• This position requires working with great attention to detail, high level problem-solving ability, and an analytical approach to implementing solutions.
• Must be able to work within a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment with competing priorities.
• Must be able to coach and train other developers/admins with less experience.
