TEC truly offers the convenience of one-stop shopping for all trucking-related needs.OverviewThis position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks. We offer in-house advanced-training opportunities - we are one of only three dealer groups in North America that is certified to conduct all Mack/Volvo training up to the master tech certification within our in house Training Centers. We cover travel costs for our technicians to attend training. We also offer a family-oriented work environment.Sign on bonus of up to $5,000 available depending upon experience/skill levelResponsibilitiesConduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicle to proper operating conditionPerform advanced repairs and replace major components such as radiators, valve adjustments, and turbosRebuild or repair major components such as transmissions, gear plates and block reconditioningPerform entire engine overhauls including replacing heads, rods and main bearingsTroubleshoot and perform complex wiring repairs and diagnose and repair any electronic issuesPerform routine and preventative maintenance services. Identify worn and damaged parts all parts to include major components, repairing, adjusting, or replacing as neededMaintain safe and organized work areaAbility to be on task to meet shop quality and efficiency standardsMaintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairsFollow all state and federal vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards; follow company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulationsMust use all safety equipment necessary for the jobMaintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publicationsVerify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systemsQualificationsMinimum 5 years practical experience in commercial 6 & 8 truck classesMust have own hand toolsHighly proficient in the repair and diagnosis of all aspects of commercial trucks; such as diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts & differentials; electrical systems, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and brakesHigh expertise in troubleshooting using diagnostic softwareOEM Master Tech certifications & Cummins training preferredProficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic softwareAbility to meet physical demands of the job (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.)Ability to work effectively with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert mannerValid driver
