  Job Summary

  Colaska is seeking a Project Engineer based out of our Southeast Roadbuilder Haines or Juneau locations, who will potentially work throughout the Southeast and on the Kenai Peninsula. The specific projects involve rock excavation through blasting techniques. This individual will assist by means of cost management and analysis, scheduling, billings, and project support. This individual should have strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and communication skills with a commitment to safety, integrity, and ethics.

  Main Responsibilities

  Ensure a safe project site and work environment in accordance with Colaska policy, participate with Goal Zero principles.

  Assist Site Superintendent(s) and Project Manager(s) with project operations, schedules, and cost management.

  Digital modeling of the work using Trimble Business Center software

  Assist Project Manager with daily project duties such as material billing preparations, expedite material procurement, approval, and facilitate product transportation.

  Assist with the development of project(s) long-term and short-term schedule.

  Attend pre-job and weekly meetings with agencies/owners.

  Establish and maintain both cost report and billing quantities.

  Transfer of information from estimating software to job cost software.

  Communicate with Project Manager(s) and Site Superintendent(s) on a regular basis to ensure project issues and concerns are addressed.

  Manage positions that may report to the Project Engineer (Project Clerk, Project Engineer Intern)

  Education & Requirements

  Must be safety oriented.

  Bachelor’s degree preferred, work experience can be used in lieu of education.

  Valid Driver License

  Good communication skills and ability to work well with others in a team environment.

  Should have a spirit of adventure and have a positive attitude.

  Ability to pass an ATF background check.

  Skills

  Self-Starter and has great multi-tasking skills

  Proficient in 3D modeling and drafting

  Computer software knowledge of: Primavera P6, MS Office, JDE, HCSS

  Preferred skillset in Trimble Business Center, and Road Design

  Ability to create daily job-cost reporting and manage subcontractor scope of work

  Ability to understand construction surveying
