The Senior Technical Training Writer will fill a key role within the fast-growing TransUnion Marketing Solutions Knowledge Lab Team. We are scaling quickly and need your help to document specifications, user guides, processes, and training materials for our products to educate internal associates and external customers.
5+ years of experience in technical writing with product and process documentation using industry standard authoring, publishing, and image capture and editing tools.B.A./B.S. degree in Technical Writing, Journalism, English, or relevant technical field.Current experience documenting in a technical field, such as software development, computer science, or engineering.Recent experience writing SOPs, FAQs, product documentation, internal process documentation, and release notes for multiple audiences.Ability to identify needs and create documentation using best practice methodologies.Ability to evaluate and analyze complex information and a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.Experience with video production including scripting, directing, recording, and editing.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across remote teams with strong energy, drive and enthusiasm balanced with patience, persistence, and diplomacy.Experience using Design Thinking to address issues and center documentation on the needs of the end user.Experience leading discussions with limited access to subject matter experts (SMEs) to quickly uncover and document end to end processes.Experience creating and updating process flows for use across multiple departments.Fluent in English (writing and spoken).Impact You'll Make:Work with product managers and SMEs to create and maintain product documentation including procedural manuals, process documentation, training materials, and other technical documents.Create technical content utilizing technical writing industry standard tools.Partner with Training to create and maintain materials to educate TU Marketing Solutions associates on our products and solutions.Maintain internal Knowledge base to centralize documentation and help answer product-related questions.Identify documentation repositories, revise, edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage.Research, create, and maintain product documentation templates that allow for ease of use and understanding.This is a remote position for candidates in Costa Rica, which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.Impact You'll Make:
What We'd Love to See:Superior written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization.Experience working with and documenting API for developers.Experience creating visuals, screen captures, and diagrams (Adobe CC, SnagIt, etc.).Editing and proofreading experience of your own work, peer review the work of other technical writers and providing constructive feedback to ensure the documents are free of grammatical mistakes, structural formatting, and technical inaccuracies.Experience with MadCap Flare or other online help authoring tools.Experience with SharePoint Communication site pages and web design (CSS and HTML).Domain expertise in digital marketing.TransUnion Job Title
