DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:As a Senior Technical Service Representative, you will support all channels of distribution within PPG Architectural Coatings including company-owned stores, Independent Dealers, and Home Centers (The Home Depot, Walmart, Menards, etc.). Internal and external customer requests range from product recommendations to trending and analysis, extended warranties, complaint resolution, and in-depth failure analysis. These requests are received daily via telephone, email, social media, fax and standard mail.
You will work hybrid at the Cranberry, PA location and report to the Manager: Technical Trend Analytics.
Key Responsibilities* Interacting with both Internal and External PPG customers. This may include members of field sales, PPG owned stores and dealer personnel, as well as the DIY store and/or consumer.* Provide accurate Technical information on all PPGAC product lines and brands under PPG. This includes but is not limited to Pittsburgh Paints, Porter, Olympic, Glidden Professional, and Flood.* Spend an average of 70% of time answering calls, inputting tickets, responding to email and resolving complaints and product issues with the remaining 30% spent on trending, training, development, and meetings.* Provide our sales team and end-users with recommendations for products, product systems, and application methods.* Act as a "Problem Manager", coordinating and supporting complaint investigation and follow-up by multi-functional teams including sales, supply chain, production, R&D and Product Management* Investigate and report on trends, product issues and relay data in a professional manner.* Complaint resolution and cost-effective negotiations.* Work closely with Marketing, Customer Service, and R&D on products, potential issues, testing and field trials.* Ability for minor travel to trade shows, R&D trainings, and jobsite visits (
Qualifications* Bachelor's degree or significant paint-related work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.* 5+ years experience in technical, analytical or similar role.* Strong communication and telephone etiquette skills.* Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite* Must have a good attendance.* Must work independently and in a group in a self-managed team environment.* Analyze information in an expedited manner to provide resolution.
