Role Definition

The Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) Product Safety Regulation Senior Engineer will guide and coordinate CPPD (Concurrent Product and Process Development) teams in NPI (New Product Introduction), CPI (Continuous Product Improvement), and current product maintenance to meet regulatory requirements while providing superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.

Responsibilities

Interface with Enterprise Regulatory and Compliance team to cascade and communicate the product regulatory changes and requirements to Large Wheel Loader (LWL), and Wheeled Dozers Compactors (WDC)

Develop work scope and activities for CPPD teams to meet regulatory requirements.

Provide consultation and guide to CPPD teams, including product design, manufacturing, supply chain, product support, marketing, etc.

Lead or facilitate regulation-specific projects (i.e., roading certification, task-base risk assessment, etc.) to ensure the required work is completed on time and quality.

Responsible for creating compliance documents, managing the documents repository, and providing required documents to various business partners, including manufacturing, marketing, and dealership.

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to CPPD and the management in making key decisions related to product safety compliance.

Contribute to continuous improvement of product safety regulations processes, systems, and training.

Degree Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Engineering curriculum

Top Candidate Will Have:

Knowledge and experience in earthmoving product design, manufacturing, or development

Experience in Wheel Loaders machine development and manufacturing

Experience in product regulatory work

Excellent analytical skills

Extensive understanding of complex engineering concepts and applications

Strong technical leadership skills

Strong ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the workgroup, other units, customers, and suppliers

Collaborating:

• Demonstrates a basic understanding of the concept of collaborative processes.

• Explains the concept of collaboration as applicable to organizations.

• Provides examples of how collaboration has helped achieve organizational goals.

• Contrasts collaborative with competitive operating styles in organizations.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Decatur, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available

This position may require 5% travel

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
