Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with passion for problem solving and delivering solutions, and experience in Mechanical Design, Systems Design and Aero-Thermal-Fluids (ATF) Analysis.
In this role you will be responsible for executing all Systems Engineering related activities for the projects assigned to in alignment with the business’s current procedures and practices. You will provide direct support for the review of dynamic requirements and development of hydromechanical component models and/or systems models and perform analysis to show compliance to requirements during preliminary and detailed design phases of the program. As a Senior Systems Engineer you will need to be proactive in the improvement and expansion of model-based design for hydro-mechanical and/or electric fuel systems.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Utilize robust Systems Engineering practices in support of projects assigned.
Complete analysis of hydromechanical fuel systems utilizing Matlab/Simulink and Dymola/Modelica to provide dynamic analysis at system and component level.
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability, and effectiveness analysis for system and components.
Build and test components/system models.
Analyze the utilization of models to assess dynamic performance vs. specified requirements.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 5 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
Matlab/Simulink and Dymola/Modelica modeling and programing experience is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience using motivation, creativity, ownership, urgency, and interpersonal skills to drive results.
Experience and/or understanding of Hydro Mechanical fuel systems.
Experience with System Dynamic Modeling, System Verification and Validation
Experience in systems requirements development, compliance, verification, and validation preferred
