Reference #: 2021132This role includes staff primarily responsible for server management within a central group supporting enterprise wide systems or within a college or division overseeing multi user systems. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, configuration, server security and performance upgrades to support application resource management and availability. May be involved in the training and oversight of lower level staff.
Responsible for installation and maintenance of in-house and third party commercial software tools including in-place version upgrades and security patches. Design, implement, and maintain tools for automation and process simplification. Must be willing and able to work with end users to improve and troubleshoot tools.
Job responsibilities include:
Perform server OS and application installation, and recurring upgrades and patching in a minimally disruptive mannerConfigure servers for compliance standardsDesign and improve tools used by the organization to automate account creations, device registrations, and service requests through application APIsMonitor ticket system and support the IT group in fulfilling requestsCreate and maintain documentation for organization instructions and compliance.Participate in selection, configuration, and implementation of tools required for compliance and organizational needsInstall, upgrade and patch on-premises Application servers as well as other 3rd party web applicationsDevelop new and improve existing scripts used by IT group to create accounts and register network hardwareDevelop web browser front end for terminal based scriptsProvide support to front line support personnel
