We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Oil & Gas team. This person will be responsible for research, design calculations, and coordination of project specifications with support from a technical personnel staff, including other engineers. This position is remote .
Borton-Lawson’s Oil & Gas practice is growing. As a Structural Engineer, you will support various projects, including well pads, compressor stations, industrial facilities, renewable natural gas, and liquid natural gas. You will also work within multi-disciplinary teams and participate in this exciting adventure.
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and coordinate structural engineering in multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning and design phases of engineering projects
Direct and/or develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses, and design, and bracing analyses and design
Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines, and sub-consultants
Lead and assist in proposal, scope of work, and fee schedule preparation
Attend onsite client scoping, review, and walk-down meetings
Participate in or lead internal and external meetings (in person or virtual)
Mentoring and technical direction of structural engineers and designers
Assist in client development and fostering a relationship with clients
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil, or Architectural Engineering
10-15 years of experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering
PE licensure preferred
Expert understanding of structural engineering mechanics and behaviors
Demonstrated experience leading project management teams
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
