Within Azure Data, the Big Data Analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We are in the process of integrating our disparate products into Azure Synapse Analytics with a set of experiences that are meant to simplify and accelerate time to value.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build cloud native big data analytics engine that can regularly handle petabytes-sized and larger data sets. You will work in areas related to intermediate data store that handles temporary data transferred between mappers and reducers. We are looking for passionate people with experiences working with high throughput systems, ability to design components carefully, properly handle errors, write clean and well-factored code with good tests and maintainability.

Responsibilities
Work with a team of engineers to design, implement, and maintain features in the intermediate data store for big data analytics engine
As a senior engineer you will have the opportunity to develop excellent design skills and grow as an engineer and technical leader to mentor and ramp up new hires.
Work closely with program and product managers to ensure we are prioritizing the right customer asks.
Improve and monitor telemetry to assess the health of the product in both pre-release as well as released software and use this data to drive improvements into the quality of the product.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND relevant years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Relevant years of technical engineering experience coding in C/C++ Demonstrated experience and comfort in multithreading constructs and their use in C/C++

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred/Additional Qualifications
