　　The Opportunity

　　The Senior Scientist I will work in a research technician capacity within a project-driven biosensor R&D group, conducting non-routine analytical tests on sensor materials and sensor models, for use in biosensor design, development, and troubleshooting.

　　What You'll Work On

　　Conduct analytical experiments to test new and existing biosensor concepts and the materials used in their construction, including small molecules, traditional polymers, and biologics. This will include running analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, LCMS, GCMS, UV, GPC, viscometer, cyclic voltammeter, and interpreting results from these and other techniques such as NMR, MS, elemental.

　　Construct and test biosensors in various formats for R&D purposes. This includes running laser cutting, automated liquid dispensing, and other custom equipment.

　　Access the chemical, biological, and engineering literature to provide insights to technical issues.

　　Present experimental results in group meetings.

　　Maintain lab equipment, QA records, and purchasing documentation.

　　Purchase materials and services and interface regularly with contract suppliers

　　Coordinate with internal functions such as Safety, Purchasing, Accounting.

　　Required Qualifications

　　BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a relevant physical or life science, with 5+ years post-baccalaureate experience.

　　Expertise in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, synthesis, polymer chemistry, organometallics, biologics, desired.
