Position Summary
The Risk Analyst is accountable for administration of the Utilities’ Enterprise Risk program, including assigned duties in wholesale market and credit risk, retail credit risk, insurance claims and policy management. Analyst will support ad-hoc analysis of other Utility activities as assigned and lead development, implementation, and application of assigned parts of the Utilities’ Enterprise Risk platform and processes.
Job Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Leads projects associated with the buildout and application of the Utilities’ Enterprise Risk Platform, as well as process improvements to risk functions to improve efficiency and foster review, analysis, and lessons learned from Utility data.
Coordinate wholesale commodity deal review, wholesale position and credit reporting using approved Utility models and the OATI system, credit support for wholesale and large retail accounts with associated systems including MSGP.
Maintain, support, and facilitate evolution and improvement of the policies and processes by which Grant PUD operates and supports the market and credit risk management of its position in retail and wholesale energy markets through assigned projects and observation, reporting, and fostering solutions to noted areas of concern.
Other Enterprise Risk responsibilities:
Assists Risk Manager with data requests, analysis, and preparation of risk management presentations, gathers and circulates required background material.
Reviews various Utility policies for effectiveness.
Claims administration, including:
Claims investigation and processing within the Utilities’ self-insured retentions, reporting larger claims to insurers and providing coordination of claim details between adjustor, broker, and Grant PUD staff, referral as necessary to legal counsel.
Monitor the Utilities’ Self-Insurance Reserve fund.
Working with local authorities, investigate and invoice third parties for damage to Utilities’ property incidents, monitor for collections.
Provide quarterly reports on claims activities to Commission, facilitate financial recording of insurance activity with Accounting.
Provide input and risk assessment on contract insurance language and Certificates of Insurance.
Coordinate with broker, auditor, and legal counsel as necessary on contract issues.
Administration of enterprise-wide insurance programs manages relationships and requirements with Grant PUD’s insurance brokers. Assist in Utilities’ process for property, casualty, and surety policy selections, premium and/or renewal negotiations, and policy review with broker representatives and underwriters. Acts as a liaison with insurance vendors and consultants; completes insurance applications and responds to surveys.
Review and update Insurance and Claims policies and procedures, as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Required
Minimum of 1 year of experience required within a risk management department, insurance company, insurance brokerage or related finance area of experience.
In lieu of the specific risk and insurance experience, other business-related experiences demonstrating an aptitude to learn and perform the required duties and responsibilities may be considered.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
Three (3) years related experience.
License and Certification
Required
A valid State driver's license with no restrictions.Preferred
Washington State Insurance training/professional certification.Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of insurance practices followed by utilities; commercial insurance policies; contractual/legal experience desirable; mediating and resolving complex problems and issues, negotiations, and dispute resolution; effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

Will perform work at various utility sites and remotely, with at least one day per week at Ephrata Headquarters.
Duties are customarily performed in an office environment.
Callouts for incident investigation may require after-hours trips inside the county.
