Position Summary
The Senior Researcher, Extramural Funding independently leads, supports, or collaborates in the planning, development, and implementation of processes advancing the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine’s extramural funding portfolio. Provides leadership and support in identification of extramurally funded grants and contracts including planning, design, execution and dissemination of the department’s research, education, clinical, service, policy and community engaged methods, protocols, and procedures all constituting a principal component of an integrated extramural funding program.

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
Facilitates/leads meetings to convene new and established partners to collaborate to competitively prepare for extramural funding submissions-from development or concept ideation through to proposal submission.
Lead and supports cross-departmental research, evaluation, and related methodologies to advance institutional and extramural communication, monitoring and reporting of the processes and impacts associated with CHPM extramural funding (including but not limited to trends in successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvements)
Application of a proven track record in the social and behavioral sciences, public health, dissemination and implementation science, preventive medicine and related research/evaluation theories/methodologies to support and increase extramural funding associated with the science and practice led through CHPM .
Leads collaborative, peer reviewed manuscripts reflecting the priorities and leadership of CHPM .
Leads and collaboratively works with CHPM leadership, faculty, and staff to translate is leadership and extramural funding priorities with donors (Office of Institutional Advancement) and the Office of Sponsored Programs to communicate, translate and prepare competitive and responsive proposals for funding.
Independently undertakes or collaborates in the planning, development, and implementation of extramural research, evaluation, educational, service and training grants and contracts.
Provides professional leadership in the design and development of broad research concepts, and in the establishment of new research methods, protocols, procedures, and techniques through development of relationships, content expertise and webinars designed to support competitiveness and capacity building in the acquisition of extramural funding.
Supports comprehensive data analyses and summary interpretations and provides leadership and coordination in the development and delivery of reports, presentations, and manuscripts associated with research/educational/clinical/service/policy findings.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processes employee concerns and problems, directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes employee performance evaluations.
Provides day-to-day technical leadership and functional supervision to lower-level professionals and/or paraprofessionals in the execution of accountabilities and functions.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
