The Analytical Department is responsible for support of the manufacturing department and external customers. The Senior Research Scientist’s principal responsibility is the design, development, validation and implementation of analytical procedures. The SRS is an effective Project Leader on multiple projects simultaneously and tracks the progress of the project so that it remains on-time and within expected budgets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Understand the tests necessary to characterize an API and continually expand technical knowledge
Develop expertise in the drug development process, the internal steps necessary to manufacture API at this site, as well as the theoretical and practical aspects of general analytical chemistry
Use research knowledge to effectively plan and manage day-to-day work cycle operations of a project; stay current with changes in applicable field
Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
Implement work plans; conduct performance reviews with the assistance of a higher-level manager. Independently determine and develop approach to solutions
Plan work to meet personal project objectives and deadlines; assess the needs and make changes in process, work flow and/or assignments. Coordinate multiple, concurrent assignments on a multi-faceted research project
Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of products and/or service
Conduct laboratory operations in a safe manner. Maintain familiarity with the Chemical Hygiene Plan.

Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or related fieldOR
Master’s degree
Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
Salary: $93,000/yr.
