  ABOUT THE POSITION

  Senior Project Manager - Federal Site Investigation & Remediation

  VHB is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our strong and growing Federal Site Investigation & Remediation practice. This professional will support comprehensive environmental response compensation and liability act (CERCLA) response actions for federal land managers at contaminated sites located across the United States. Response activities will include managing preliminary assessments/site inspections, engineering evaluation/cost analyses, remedial investigation/feasibility studies, removal/remedial design, removal/remedial actions, and long-term monitoring programs.

  This position can be located in any VHB office.

  Responsibilities

  Collaborate with other federal practice members

  Provide occasional hands-on support during field exploration and testing Leverage technology to support data management and visualization Interpret/synthesize site investigation data Evaluate potential contaminant migration pathwaysCollaborate with human health and ecological risk assessorsEvaluate applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements (ARARs)Effectively communicate project status and findings to clients through technical reports, correspondence, memoranda, and presentations Perform routine project management tasks (proposal writing, budget tracking, invoicing)Mentor and possibly supervise junior team members Skills and Attributes

  Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clientsUnderstanding of contaminant transport and fate Working knowledge of human health and ecological risk assessment processesClear and effective writing in plain languageRecognize and manage business riskAbility to problem solve and work independentlyQualifications

  B.S. in engineering, geology, or natural science related field Master's Degree preferred 8-11 years environmental remediation consulting experience required for Senior project ManagerPrior CERCLA response experience preferredUser-level experience/knowledge of GIS and environmental data management platforms (e.g., Earthsoft's EQuIS) preferredOSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications requiredProfessional licensure or on track to obtain preferred (PG, PE, etc.)Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $92,000-120,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
