About You and this Role
Dowhas an exciting opportunity available for aSenior Project Managerlocated inHouston, TX. In this role, you will have responsibility and accountability for overall assigned project results and achievement of project goals/objectives as they relate to the business opportunity.
Project management is a key skillset for this role in order to lead cross functional project teams through all phases of project execution (Front End Loading, Design, Procurement, Construction, and Start-up). In this role, you will focus on projects that are regional in nature and are quite significant in size and/or complexity and interface with multiple organizations both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Serves as the leader of the project team accountable for project results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes.
Develops project scope the meets the needs of the business opportunity and ensures stakeholders are aligned upon the scope through functional reviews.
Ensures cost estimate adequately represents project scope and managing spending within the authorized budgets and spending plans.
Works closely with business leadership to secure funding through the authorization process.
Ensures project schedule is based upon sound data and aligned with business objectives. Monitors progress closely against baseline plans.
Ensures EH&S plans are developed and implemented to meet EH&S goals, including construction safety.
Ensures plans are in place to allow for smooth transition of the project to Operations and Maintenance.
Works with department leaders to secure lead resources and once assigned ensures staffing plans are developed and monitored against plan.
Provides effective communication and coordination between the project team and key stakeholders. Provides regular updates on scope, objectives/goals, cost, progress vs. plan and risks.
Uses and enforces project change management program including securing DOA approvals per the process.
Fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong safety focus that embraces diversity and inclusion, innovation and sustainability, and continuous improvement and empowerment
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing, project leadership)
Prior experience in a project leadership role
Must be willing to travel up to 15% annually to support business need
Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills
A bachelor's degree or higherin engineering
Project management certification
