Job Overview:
Lead fabrication scaffolding process by involving in constructability reviews/ scaffolding strategies, technical support on scaffolding requirements including design, delivering workpacks, managing scaffold materials, finalizing weekly progress, supporting hookup requirements, preparing scaffold plans and managing interface with project teams. 10-15 year experience as Production/ Project Engineer in Oil & Gas/ EPC project with exposure in scaffolding & scaffold design requirements. Degree/ Diploma in Engineering (Civil/ Mechanical) with Scaffolding experience
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall project inter-discipline coordination between members of the operations support groups, throughout one or more project phases of detail design, fabrication, offshore installation and hook-up:
Supervises discipline Production engineers
Identifies production engineer resource needs for the project and communicate these regularly to Division Production Engineer
Manage the progress and productivity reporting on the project
Understands the full contractual scope of work, contract type and milestone schedules
Reviews constructability and ensure work execution plan is based on the most productive option.
Conducts fabrication 4WLA and prioritizes material and drawings to suit
Responsible for documenting all scope of work changes, and coordinating AFC estimate updates.
Responsible for initiating and approving all revisions orders and change orders via the DTCM
Solves technical problems and initiates site queries to ensure work disruption is minimized and productivity is optimized.
Lead by example in following the company safety policies.
Chairs the fabrication 4WLA and forecast fabrication and engineering requirements to meet the project contract schedule.
Manages the project weekly fabrication progress and productivity and ensures is within budget
Manages any scope of work changes and ensures AFC estimate is up to date and that revision and change orders are initiated.
Understands the scope of work, schedules, specifications and prepare project specific task listing
At commencement of the project, chairs a fabrication kick-off meeting
Identifies and supervises project production engineering resources required to achieve fabrication productivity goals.
Appraises fabrication management of any project issues which effect the forecasted progress, productivity and schedule commitments
Develops a work pack index and sets priorities and deliverable dates for the discipline teams
Directs the discipline groups with all material ordering priorities and schedule dates to suit the fabrication sequence
Reviews material expediting reports and advises Procurement personnel of any concerns and mitigation plans as necessary
Solves project specific construction problems with the assistance of Division Production Engineer where required.
Authorizes technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the client.
Directs the discipline groups with all engineering deliverable priorities to satisfy project and contractual requirements.
Develops project fabrication execution plan which satisfies the contract requirements most productively
Interfaces with other key project personnel such as project cost engineers, marine operations engineers, Quality manager
Leads project constructability program effort for fabrication
Incorporates project fabrication lessons learnt into the global lessons learnt database
Identifies project risks and opportunities.
Establishes a productive working relationship with client representatives.
Leads Fabrication proposal efforts as per company procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
5+ years in Offshore and Petrochemical
Engineering bachelor's degree
Minimum of 5 years as a discipline production engineer
