What will you do?
Work in the Fermentation Process Technology group in partnership with relevant Fermented Ingredient operations, manufacturing, process engineering, quality, R&D and business teams to develop and optimize processes for multi-functional fermented and spray dried food ingredients.
This will be achieved through pilot scale and factory trials utilizing lean manufacturing and six sigma principles, strong microbiology background and fermentation experience.
The candidate will lead and participate on proactive and reactive product & process technology projects, coordinate product introductions & commercialization, lead and participate on innovative interdepartmental and global teams.
Lead and/or participate in RCAs as needed.
Design and conduct experiments to support new product research commercialization and the process development of multi-functional food ingredients.Design and conduct experiments for efficiency and cost savings initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement of current products and processes.
Implement yield and activity improvements.
Utilize design of experiments, current scientific techniques.
Utilize good data management: pulling data from various systems and consolidating into usable databases. Utilize data in process optimization practices.
Work in pilot plant and support production scale ups and commercialization.
Execute customer requests both internal and external to satisfy project needs from a conceptual phase through commercialization and troubleshooting.
Participate in ideation/brainstorming.
Process development and optimization.
Execute internal processes.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot customer processes.
Work with cross functional groups to optimize the strengths of Kerry and deliver the best Taste and Nutrition experience for our customers.

Develop and protect Intellectual Property by documenting research notes.
Complete project requests within the time frame required by the customer.

What will you need to be successful?
Competent in bench top microbiology, aseptic technique, plating, transfer & culture maintenance.
Experience or exposure to food fermentation pilot or production equipment/activities (fermenters, spray dryers, freeze dryers, dairy/meat equipment, centrifugation, filtration, pelletizing, evaporation, sterilization, pasteurization, wet and dry blending).
Ability to lead and mentor junior members of the team without authority.
Ability to lead cross functional project teams through ambiguous situations to deliver on projects.
Must be able to taste and smell chemicals, flavors and food products.
Travel to Kerry production plants and to customers.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in a laboratory setting and lift 50 pounds.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills
Ability to set priorities, work independently, manage projects, and drive results.
