This position is responsible for managing the development, program execution, and sustaining engineering of the Datalink Solutions Team under the Collins Aerospace, Mission Systems, Data l ink Solutions organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Planning, organizing, resource allocation, personnel development, performance engagement discussions, salary planning, and overall group management of Datalink Solutions System Engineering group.
The position requires project execution direction to the engineering team.
Demonstrate sound decision making skills, communication skills, networking skills, and accurately forecast project work demand and costs.
Understanding of systems engineering techniques, communication product development, and the associated processes, as well as project management skills including SPI and CPI analysis.
Work directly with and/or manage daily activities of systems engineers, project engineering, program management, and supporting organizations to see datalinks related applications through to completion.
Lead the team using strong interaction, interpersonal, mentoring and negotiating skills, and will be responsible for managing project risks/issues, elevating to upper management when appropriate .
Responsible for adhering to, and supporting Collins Aerospace process methodologies while developing and managing commitments to meeting project cost, schedule and quality requirements.
System and subsystem requirements analysis, definition, and validation; systems and subsystems integration and requirements verification testing; effective technical collaboration among systems, hardware and software design functions; assist in resolving technical problems that cross functional domain areas of hardware and software; and developing systems related documentation.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with short schedules to ensure customer expectations are met.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR
In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. DOD Secret Clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior knowledge or e xperience with Link 16 and t actical d atalink technologies and development programs is desirable.
Familiar with Software Defined Radios (SDRs), Open Architecture methodologies, software systems, and communications network architectures.
Five to eight years of system engineering experience combined with relevant development and/or leadership experience building SDRs to include the hardware and software qualification of them.
Extensive experience in all development phases from concept, Preliminary Design (PDR), Critical design (CDR), verification and validation testing, and product deliveries are desired.
Understanding and experience in Agile and Scaled Agile Frameworks is a plus.
Working knowledge of hardware, software, firmware, and mechanical development processes.
Familiarity with SEER-H estimation modeling tools, experience with bid narrative write-ups, Earned Value reporting, experience in Factory Transition, and test methodologies for Software Defined Radios are advantageous considerations for the position.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
