Your responsibilities will include everything from developing and prototyping innovative machine learning, and deep learning algorithms to implementing, testing, and supporting full solutions in a production environment. You will serve as a strategic advisor to science, product, and engineering partners. You will be an intellectual thought leader that will help enhance the science in addition to developing the thinking of our team. You will direct and shape the science philosophy, planning and strategy for the organization on a variety of ML driven innovations. You will lead efforts in Generative AI to advance our customer feature set, and provide thought leadership to scientists and engineers to invent and implement scalable ML recommendations supporting new Customer Experiences. You will work closely with peers in Amazon Consumer to advance state of the art research and science application for our Machine Learning models. You'll also participate in organizational planning, hiring, mentorship and leadership development.1. 15+ years of relevant, broad research experience after PhD degree or equivalent.2. Deep expertise in Machine Learning.3. Proficiency in programming for algorithm and code reviews.4. Strong core competency in mathematics and statistics.5. Track record of successful projects in algorithm design and product development.6. Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.7. Strong prior experience with mentorship and/or management of senior scientists and engineers.1. PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.2. 15+ years of innovative machine learning research experience, with strong analytic and problem-solving skills.3. 10+ years of experience building and deploying groundbreaking machine learning solutions at scale.4. Expert level skills across many Machine Learning methodologies.5. Published research work in academic conferences or industry circles.6. Experience delivering complex end-to-end global ML solutions that run at very big scale.7. Experience with online advertising technologies and solutions.8. Effective verbal and written communication skills with non-technical and technical audiences.9. Experience working with real-world data sets and building scalable models from big data.10. Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution.11. Exhibits excellent business judgment; balances business, product, and technology very well.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $262,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
