The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to be located inthe Denver, CO office. Candidates must have previous construction estimatingexperience.
The Preconstruction Manager sets medium to large sized projects up for successthrough delivery of preconstruction services. Value should be provided tocustomers by leading the entire project team, predicting cost andschedule, advocating for owners and seamlessly transitioning preconstructionservices to the operations team. This role will provide oversight andleadership to assigned internal employees.
What You'll Do:
Provide the most professional and appropriate estimating and documentationtechniques relative to the owner's needs, team's expectations,acceptable risk, and time constraints throughout the preconstruction period.Document and communicate with the team, the progress during thepreconstruction phase, especially at the formal conclusion of schematic,design development, and construction document phases.Monitor design documents for compliance with scope and value analysisincorporation.Analyze and assist with contract language that protects the company.Exhibit a professional understanding of cost, market impacts, governingauthority, constructability, scheduling, design, and value.Review and provide reliable and timely feedback on all estimates,schedules, and other necessary documents throughout the design phase ofassigned projects.Demonstrate consistent and creative evaluation of plans and specifications forbest value and compliance with the project goals.Identify and assist with the development of strategies and correspondencerequired for successful fast-tracking opportunities.Comfortably speak with authority on a variety of building systems.Take the lead role in preconstruction team meetings when appropriate anddemonstrate the value of incorporated communications and information sharingthroughout the process.

What We're Looking For:
Education: High school diploma is required. An industry-related collegedegree is preferred.
Experience: Six years of extensive estimating and/or project managementconstruction experience is required. Experience in a fast-paced businessenvironment is helpful. Proven history of leading, teaching, developing,and mentoring others successfully.
Skills: Business acumen, judgment, communication, solid leadership,client relations, negotiation, project management, solid constructionknowledge, estimating skills, presentation skills, decision-making,conflict resolution, tact, adaptable, analytical, coach, andentrepreneurial are necessary. Solid systems experience with on-screentakeoff, WinEst, SureTrak, Prolog, BIM, and JDE is preferred for this role.
