Job Description: Ensures safe and accurate radiationdelivery and patient safety through the management technical aspects ofradiation delivery equipment. Maintains the quality assurance (QA)program and process development in the Department of Radiation Oncology.Provides education and training in radiation physics and supports theoversight of radiation safety and data management in Radiation Oncology.Major Responsibilities 1. Calibrates radiation therapy equipment and performsQA as required. 2. Evaluation and implementation of new technology andtechniques. Ensures proper radiation protection standards are followedwhen implementing new equipment. Performs acceptance and commissioningof new equipment and educates staff on new technology and itsimplementation. Releases new technology for clinical use. 3. Performsmeasurements, analysis and modeling of beam data for treatment planningpurposes. Verifies all data and algorithms in the treatment planningsystem.
