We have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Operations Business Leader for our team at GE Aerospace Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC). Our Team is at the cutting edge of ceramics utilizing additive technology to advance the development and manufacturing of airfoils. DCC is experiencing a tremendous amount of growth, and continued technology development is critical to our success.
The Senior Operations Business Leader will be responsible for leading manufacturing operations for Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC). This individual will be accountable for planning and directing all aspects of the organization’s manufacturing, initiatives, and policies, as well as play a key leadership role in the continued transformation of the DCC site. They will perform the daily operations to ensure reliability and consistency of the production processes, while reaching defined targets for our KPIs in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
This individual will function in a team environment, with the plant leader, members of the site level Staff, Engineers, Technicians, and Operators to ensure business metrics and support both internal and external customers. This leadership role will require you to develop, coach, and support your large team, while supporting delivery and cost in a secure, compliant, and safe manner.
This position would be a good fit for an Operational Leader with strong people leadership and New Product Introduction (NPI) experience. Previous experience with Airfoil, Core, Casting, Ceramic and/or Additive Manufacturing would be preferred.

Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement plans to ensure successful attainment of production schedule commitments
Manage the operation to reach defined targets in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Analyze production labor requirements, implementing appropriate capacity decisions within DCC budget and on time
Drive key initiatives including EHS, shop productivity, and inventory cycle reductions to meet production goals
Drive operations team (comprised of both salary and hourly team members) towards execution of business goals using Lean Manufacturing methodology and Culture.
Monitor and improve cost productivity while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality & a compliant manner
Establish all production schedules and meet customer’s delivery and quality expectations
Assist in budgeting and forecasting for production planning
Ensure continuous improvement according to benchmarks and standards
Ensure consistent application of plant policies and procedures
Have a strong focus on employee relations and drive of strong culture of engagement, flexibility and high performance
Foster well-trained and motivated staff
Select, train and develop plant supervisory staff
Provide leadership in problem resolution, resource utilization, career counseling
Implement Lean Culture with strong focus on process rigor and continuous improvement mindset
Provide leadership, accountability and output against program milestones and manufacturing deliverables.
Drive daily management for team to meet production goals and balance development objectives.
Own and be accountable for business projects to increase output and reduce cost.
Use data to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational management & manufacturing.
Utilize Problem Solving methodologies to find new solutions to difficult challenges that impact both delivery and cost.
Use data analysis, and expertise both within the team and outside the team to support problem solving efforts.
Partner with both internal DCC team members of adjacent functions and other GE Aerospace organizations to assist with problem solving, and drive to solutions.
Interpret internal and external business challenges and implements best practices to improve processes.
Lead others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes.
Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and question conflicting data for analysis. Use multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Influence others to ensure delivery by partnering with other parts of the organization.
Communicate complex messages and influence others to drive consensus.
Communicate effectively with partners outside of DCC and customers.
Manage the wellbeing, load, capacity, and accountability of a both Salary Team and Operators.
Exercise the recognized supervisory responsibilities relating to PPG, career & professional development, recruitment, and training.
Actively drive for team development and growth, promote a culture of Continuous Improvement and data / analytical led decision making.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
Minimum of 7 years of additional experience in shop operations / manufacturing technology
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing process
Desired Characteristics:
Strong people leadership experience of mid-sized teams
Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Proven results with experience of leading a large and complex team
Proven years of experience in Operations Management, preferably in a production facility is an advantage.
Experience with NPI development is an advantage.
Experience with Airfoils, Ceramics, and/or Castings is an advantage.
Experience with Additive technology is an advantage.
