“Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development”
Are you interested in building large-scale distributed infrastructure systems for the cloud? The OCI team is building new technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. We are looking for hands-on, distributed systems engineers and architects with expertise and passion for solving difficult problems within large-scale, global platforms. An engineer at any level can have a significant technical and business impact.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience designing, building, and implementing distributed cloud-scale systems. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist who is comfortable diving deep into any part of the stack, including interaction with hardware. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of the OCI cloud services, namely, OCI Horizon.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational practices, test automation, and overall service quality.
Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and assist in code refactoring efforts.
Demonstrate flexibility and agility by working on various OCI services based on business needs.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
Participate in the design and implementation of highly scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions.
Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of software components and infrastructure services.
Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices.
Maintain documentation for developed features, APIs, and operational procedures.
Support the commercial cloud service as an on-call engineer.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent proven experience
5-8+ years' experience building and operating large-scale, highly available, cloud-based distributed systems
Strong programming skills in PL/SQL and a solid understanding of data warehouse concepts and design.
Specialist skill in a modern programming language such as Java or Python, with proficiency in additional languages, preferred
Proficiency in cloud technologies, including a good understanding of cloud computing concepts and services.
Familiarity with DevOps principles, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD practices.
Strong Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
Experience with infrastructure provisioning and management tools like Terraform is desirable.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Ability to adapt to changing requirements, priorities, and technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms.
Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability and performance.
Knowledge of other programming languages and frameworks.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile development environment.
