　　Job Description

　　AECOM Buildings + PlacesArchitectural team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is based out of our Markham, ON office but we are open to work on a hybrid-basis.

　　AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.

　　Major Responsibilities:

　　A key member of the mechanical design team, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for design and construction administration of various buildings and facilities, especially for Transit.

　　The job incumbent will:

　　Provide conceptual design at the early stages of the project and develop the concept to high quality detailed design, co-ordinate with all disciplines;

　　Design HVAC, Controls, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems;

　　Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using industry programs (Carrier HAP);

　　Perform calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, and field investigations;

　　Ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards;

　　Write/ edit mechanical specifications;

　　Travel to construction sites to conduct mechanical inspections and prepare reports. Some out-of-town travel expected.

　　Must participate in business development and writing proposals.

　　Must be able to prepare written reports and deliver results in a clear manner to technical or non-technical audience.

　　Qualifications

　　Minimum Requirements:

　　In order to be considered for this position, candidates must, at the very least have:

　　University Degree in Mechanical Engineering + (six) 6 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

　　Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario

　　Strong Consulting Industry background and Transit experience required

　　Preferred Requirements:

　　15+ years of experience

　　familiarity with TTC and Metrolinx standards.

　　In-depth knowledge of HVAC and hydronic systems, and controls

　　Design knowledge in Plumbing and Fire Protection systems

　　Experience in LEED/ Net Zero design preferred

　　Well organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

　　Very strong communication skills, spoken and written; good presentation skills.

　　Able to work independently or as part of a team
