Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH Wireless is seeking a Cloud Platform Sr. Manager to assume a pivotal leadership role as both a visionary and subject matter expert. As the Sr. Manager of our Cloud Platform, you will take charge of overseeing and optimizing our enterprise-scale environments hosted on public cloud platforms. In this position, you will lead an agile engineering team committed to supporting and advancing all facets of our public cloud infrastructure. Your responsibilities will extend to cultivating automation practices, refining support mechanisms, and ensuring the seamless integration of development workflows with systems management. The ultimate goal is to achieve and maintain high levels of reliability, flexibility, and scalability across our cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions
Guarantee the availability, scalability, and maintainability of cloud computing resources
Advocate for the implementation of cloud environments aligned with best practices and security protocols
Lead discussions with vendors, guiding feature tracking and prioritization efforts
Maintain an ongoing commitment to technical exploration, researching, and implementing innovative solutions
Spearhead integration efforts across multiple cloud service providers
Participate in design reviews to establish architecture patterns for service and application deployments on public cloud platforms
Skills, Experience and Requirements
As a successful Senior Manager, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
15+ years of experience working with various Linux distributions
15+ years of experience using and migrating CI/CD pipeline solutions and tools
15+ years of experience with a range of AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, ALB/NLB, S3, IAM, Auto-Scaling, CloudWatch, RDS, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora, Elastic Search, SSM, KMS, Kinesis, SNS, and SQS
Leading a team through commitment, vision, motivation, and empowerment
Proven track record leading teams in middleware and telecom domains
Extensive knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network communications
In-depth understanding of virtualization and container orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker
Comprehensive experience in Kubernetes networking, load balancing, and pod security
Profound familiarity with Kubernetes operational components (Kube API, Kube Scheduler, Kube Controller Manager, etc.)
Expertise in design patterns and automation strategies
Extensive experience with infrastructure and application automation
Proven track record supporting cloud-hosted systems in a 24x7 environment, including incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventative measures
Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $115,500.00/Year - $165,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
