  We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Policy & Compliance . This position is responsible for leading and planning policy development, implementation and supporting policy and compliance change initiatives that promote capacity building and good governance practices. Working closely with leaders and managers across March of Dimes Canada (MODC), this role stewards the development and ongoing support of policy and compliance activity to advance effective policy and compliance management, protect MODC assets that include our people, reputation, physical spaces, financial assets, and reputation ensuring legal obligations are fulfilled.

  Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Risk & Resilience, the Senior Manager of Policy & Compliance serves as a knowledge and support hub for MODC’s policy framework, organization-wide policy planning, advising and guiding leaders and managers on policy development and compliance processes.

  Role and Responsibilities

  · Evolve and manage MODC’s comprehensive policy system and collaborative compliance framework, includes policy development, roll out, policy library, reporting, continuous monitoring to ensure relevance and integration of policies/procedures.

  · Co-develop new and updated policies that reflect evolving MODC needs and statutory requirements, working closely with senior leaders/policy owners on policy development efforts.

  · Manage and monitor progress on MODC’s annual policy plan supporting the Senior Director Risk & Resilience and MODC Policy Review Group to advance policy priorities each year.

  · Manage, update, and steward MODC’s compliance obligations register and annual compliance plan including compliance declaration process, advancing compliance system and process best practices.

  · Work closely with People & Culture team to co-develop and advance policy training tools e.g., e-learning.

  · Assess and continuously monitor the evolving regulatory environment impacting MODC and its operations, incorporating development and enhancement efforts in planning to meet new and updated obligations and requirements.

  · Provide early identification and analysis of policy and compliance leading practices and trends, applying critical thinking, internal and external information gathering and analysis, creative problem-solving within a complex, decentralized organization.

  · Act as a resource to leaders and senior managers researching and advancing policy and compliance best practices.

  · Guide and coach Policy team member(s).

  Risk & Resilience Team

  · Contribute towards a strong Risk & Resilience Team and One Team Culture fostering inclusive spaces, supporting behaviours for learning and engagement for Risk & Resilience-led capacity building and change initiatives.

  Qualifications and Experience

  · University undergraduate or master’s degree in business or related field; Lean Six Sigma and/or PMP certification an asset.

  · Minimum 5 years experience in managing policy development and change management initiatives.

  · In-depth knowledge of key policy areas, compliance standards, principles, and processes, with proven policy development and policy/compliance system management expertise.

  · Extensive policy and compliance management experience, ability to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate data integrating diverse sources of information is required.

  · Advanced project management skills with proven ability to plan, organize, deliver policy and compliance initiatives involving complexity

  · Extensive change management experience includes policy/process design and implementation, with proven success in managing change initiatives and resolving complex issues.

  · Deep understanding and fostering of effective teamwork and communication.

  · Excellent oral and written skills to write policy, deliver presentations, training, reporting to raise awareness and build motivation for change adoption by managers and employees.

  · Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships and positive working relationships.

  · Aptitude for managing multiple priorities and navigating through ambiguity.

  · Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to diverse needs of people.
