This position participates in the medical projects initiated within the EPD Medical Organization, ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with relevant processes and procedures. The HRMA interfaces with other key members of the EPD Medical Organization - for example, Medical Managers, Clinical Research Managers and Medical Advisors - relevant to the therapeutic area for which the HRMA has responsibility. The HRMA ensures that the RMA team assists relationships and advances the scientific credibility of the Company with established and emerging Regional/National Opinion leaders, responds to requests for scientific and medical information, and provides key scientific information updates to Regional and National Opinion leaders, as appropriate. The HRMA guides the RMA team to develop, and maintain, proficiency in key scientific knowledge that would enable credible dissemination of scientific information and informed scientific dialogue with physicians and opinion leaders, and hence the development of professional working relationships.
External Environment and Customer Focus
Be a Role model in developing, building and maintaining interactions with Thought Leaders, appropriate HCPs relevant on a national level to answer scientific, unsolicited therapy and product related questions. Proactively coaches the RMA team on how they can enhance their skills in this area.
Ability to collaborate with and build credible professional relationships with cross-functional Key Internal Stakeholders (EPD Leadership, General Managers, Commercial Directors, Business Unit Heads, Marketing Heads, Business Managers/Sales Managers and Medical Directors) Proactively coaches the Senior RMAs on how they can enhance their skills in this area.
Demonstrate proficiency in using available scientific resources and presentations. Acts as a role model and effectively coaches the RMA team to effectively present information to HCPs and respond to questions, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives.
Expert knowledge and continual assessment of the medical landscape & of the competitive landscape and actively prepares to address informational needs of customers.
Provide significant knowledge and customer insight (HCP/Pharmacist/Patient) to the Medical Affairs, Marketing and affiliate Commercial Organization on a periodic basis to shape strategy and build a competitive advantage for Abbott.
Contribute to the Medical PlanAs integral member of the brand team, proactively provide scientific input into the Medical and Brand Plan and execute Key Therapy and Brand Strategies as encompassed in the Brand Plan.
Develop RMA Book of Work and KOL Interaction plans based on therapeutic area objectives and KOL needs in collaboration with the Medical Affairs, Marketing and the Commercial teams.
Contribute to the ideation, design, development and delivery of innovative, engaging and scientifically meaningful medical activities/projects in line with the Medico-marketing strategy and the RMA KOL Engagement plan.
Develop awareness and understanding of competitor issues/intelligence – for example, product strategies, studies, commercial messages, positioning, etc. – and communicate, where appropriate, within the Company.
Guide the RMA team in providing Active Support in the Digital engagement of HCPs, pharmacists & patients through specific programs such as A-Care.
Contribute to NPIIdentify New Product Ideas in Products, Devices or Services through curation of insights generated by the RMA team, and through face-to-face KOL interactions.
Ensure that the RMA team delivers on Doctor-Feedback Surveys in a timely manner.
Attend relevant Scientific Societies meetings and Conferences, and identify key areas of scientific/company interest such as - new trends in diagnosis, monitoring and treatments in the therapeutic area, etc.
Provide Coaching/Mentoring Support and Leadership to the RMA teamAct as coach and mentor to the RMA team (including the Senior RMAs/Senior Manager RMAs), aiming to improve their In-clinic effectiveness, their ability to build science-based relationships with KOLs/HCPs and their ability to efficiently navigate the matrix organization.
To hone the leadership skills of the RMAs and groom them into future leaders, ready to take responsibilities for the next level.
To imbibe a culture of Measured risk-taking, Ownership, Collaboration and Adding Value in the RMA team through leading by example.
Support Medical ResearchGuide the RMA team for assigned any specific tasks in Medical Research projects initiated within the relevant therapeutic area for which the HRMA carries responsibility (e.g. post marketing clinical activities such as registry/database projects, epidemiological surveys, all activities to comply with applicable local laws, guidelines, codes of practice, SOPs, and I& D * SOPs.
Participate along with Medical Affairs & Clinical Operations team in real world data collection programs
