Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Instructional Design and Project Management will support the management of several design, development, revision, and maintenance projects within our training design and development team. Projects will be spread across the compliance, risk, retail, leadership, and wealth management/trust verticals as well as our certification prep courses. This role is responsible for upholding the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of ABA training programs by ensuring adherence to ABA product quality standards, both instructional and technical.
This position will serve as a learning experience consultant who can consult and advise subject matter experts, vendors, and ABA colleagues on best-in-class learning experiences across our product verticals, especially our certification prep courses.
This position will assist in managing external contractors and vendors for training product design and development. This position must have a strong Instructional Design project management background including managing multiple large-scale training projects, managing subject matter experts, and vendors, and adhering to strict timelines and budgets. Experience designing asynchronous preparation certification prep courses preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-function teams to develop innovative learning solutions to support various ABA training products.
• Manage instructional design projects; Develop, manage, and/or oversee project budget, project plan, and financial reporting; Gather and document technical requirements for projects and vendor contracts.
• Manage external vendor contracts and relationships.
• Provide instructional design guidance to subject matter experts during design, development, and pilot phases of projects.
• Research industry trends and sourcing innovative solutions that contribute to the growth and scalability of the training product business line.
• Review and evaluate existing training products to make recommendations for enhancements.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure successful program content, designs, and materials.
• Create product description information and content to support marketing efforts.
• Create product ID tickets and internal training product tickets to support the production of training product projects.
• Analyze participation and performance data to continuously optimize each training product line and member experience.
• Develop deep knowledge of the Training business line to serve as a trusted consultant on training products.
• Write course descriptions for the website, catalog, and technology platforms in partnership with subject matter experts and marketing, included in training product briefs.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by business needs.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in adult learning, instructional design, human resources/talent development or related field strongly preferred or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years of experience in instructional design, education, and project management with a strong background managing multiple large-scale training projects, subject matter experts, vendors, and adhering to strict timelines and budgets. Experience should centered in the design and development of online learning programs. This position requires a solid understanding of where each learning modality is best applied and how the learning modality is designed.
• The position requires knowledge and understanding of contemporary adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies including ADDIE.
• Demonstrable experience in the management of instructional design projects with internal and/or external resources. Experience guiding external contractors, vendors, and subject matter experts in the development and design of pilot projects.
• Experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic work culture. Must thrive in a fast-paced and cross-functional work environment.
• Consistently demonstrating positive business acumen i.e. experience translating customer research and market trends into successfully deployed products and features.
• Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and virtual collaboration tools. Knowledge of learning management systems such as Cornerstone On Demand and BenchPrep and authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Lectora, and/or Captivate strongly preferred.
• Must have exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills. Strong problem-solving, customer service, analytical skills, and keen attention to detail required.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, requires little supervision; adept at working remotely and with a remote workforce. Strong collaboration is required.
• Ability and experience developing and managing project budgets, project plans, financial reporting and requirements gathering for Statement of Work and Master Services Agreements.
• Proficiency in working within various learning technology platforms. Experience with Benchprep, Docebo, and Cornerstone preferred.
• Proficiency in rapid development tools. Experience with Storyline preferred.
• APTD and/or PMP certifications preferred.
• Excellent skills in problem-solving, interpersonal communication, writing/editing, planning, multi-tasking, productivity, and efficiency. Must be proactive in seeking communication and comfortable with ambiguity as the norm.
