If you become a Splunker, we want your whole, authentic self, what we call your "million data points". So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, your passion and all the things that make you, you.

  Role

This Senior Manager will lead the Cloud License Reporting team within the Core Platform area. This team is responsible for the experiences and tools that Splunk Administrators use to understand their Splunk Cloud entitlements and visualize their license usage. This team plays a critical role in how the Splunk platform can help administrators understand the value they get from Splunk.

Your team will work closely with product owners and designers to build and support a suite of customer-facing Splunk applications to visualize, attribute, and optimize license usage for Splunk Cloud. You’ll also enable internal stakeholders by developing tools to monitor and investigate license usage as part of customer escalations. We are looking for a proven, seasoned engineering leader to lead key initiatives that impact a diverse set of customers when managing their Splunk Cloud licenses, and coordinate with other product teams to deliver their unique license reporting experiences.

  In this role, you will:

Develop a new engineering team, focused on delivering value to our end users and solving their problems.

Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software.

Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement by serving as a coach, mentor, and technical advisor.

Partner with a product manager to prioritize initiatives across multiple apps, experiences, and tools related to the team.

Communicate with a diverse set of cross-functional stakeholders (but from engineering and the field) to deliver value to our internal and external customers.

  Plan and support career development.

  Recruit and retain top talent.

Be an advocate of scalable and extensible, recoverable, manageable architecture for Core products and services.

  Ideal Experience

Experience leading engineering teams working on multiple projects and a diverse set of stakeholders.

  Experience hiring and cultivating teams.

Experience developing customer facing products and tools.

Experience working within geographically distributed organizations and with cross-functional teams.

Experience building and cultivating strong engineering practices and processes.

Consistent track record of delivering scalable, high performance, and high quality software systems.

Broad understanding of various cloud development technologies and industry trends for enterprise-scale, distributed systems.

Strong technical acumen, creativity, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence.
