RMC is hiring a Senior Linux Engineer to support our customer at NSWC Carderock Division, in Bethesda, MD. The selected applicant will provider server and system administration support for servers and workstations running Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Required Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of Linux system administration experience. Within those 10 years, shall demonstrate the following:
Expertise in Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Network File System (NFS), Domain Name Service (DNS), and Secure Shell (SSH).
At least five (5) years’ experience demonstrating expert ability writing and maintaining Linux and Perl shell scripts, demonstrated through examples of their three largest projects (include details about the individual’s role in each); and demonstrated at least 5 years’ experience in script writing and maintenance.
Expert understanding of Linux security and network/distributed computing concepts through at least five (5) years’ experience of full-time system operations and maintenance.
Strong technical problem-solving skills including demonstrating at least one example of correcting a major Linux system outage.
Must demonstrate communication, teamwork, and customer service skills through at least one year of experience of help desk or direct customer service support in the IT field.
Education: Must possess an associate degree or higher in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology from an accredited college or university.
Security Clearance: An active DoD Top Secret security clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must possess an IAT III 8570.01 baseline certification:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certificate CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) Certificate
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Certificate
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Certificate
GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) Certificate
GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) Certificate
Must have completed Operating System (Linux) training and thereafter obtain the most current training during the entire PoP of the TO.
