　　The Data Science Institute at the University of Chicago invitesapplications for a Senior Instructional Professor rank position in thearea of Data Science. The selected candidate will be appointed asAssistant Senior Instructional Professor, Associate Senior InstructionalProfessor, or Senior Instructional Professor, with rank determined byqualifications. The appointment will be for a term of up to five years,renewable. This is a career-track position with competitive salary andbenefits.

　　The successful candidate will be responsible, in consultation withfaculty leadership, for leading and directing the new Masters in DataScience program. Duties will include teaching, developing newcurriculum, admissions, advising, and managing non-student employees inthe program.

　　The University of Chicago is implementing an ambitious plan for researchand education in Data Science including new academic programs at theundergraduate and graduate levels and new cross-disciplinary researchprograms. The Committee on Data Science (codas.uchicago.edu) is the homefor data science education programs. The Data Science Institute(datascience.uchicago.edu) is a collaboration among the Department ofComputer Science (cs.uchicago.edu), the Department of Statistics(stat.uchicago.edu), and other units on campus that focuses on researchthat advances fundamental theories at the intersection of data science,artificial intelligence, statistics, and computing in the context ofreal world and domain-specific problems. The larger data sciencecommunity at the University of Chicago includes the Toyota TechnologicalInstitute at Chicago (TTIC), the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship andInnovation, and Argonne National Laboratory.

　　Qualifications

　　Required:

　　A Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a relatedfield.At least two years\' experience teaching at the university level asan instructor of record.Experience in management of academic programs, personnel, andbudgets.Preferred:

　　Demonstrable broad knowledge of the field of data science.Training and experience to teach courses and develop curriculum inone or more of the following areas: data science, machine learning,artificial intelligence, and/or computer science.Application Instructions
