Position Summary
The Global Health Equity Institute is seeking a Senior Grant Writer.
The Senior Grant Writer will assist with writing and editing proposals in response to a variety of funding opportunities. The incumbent will work with individual faculty, post-docs, residents, students and staff in the development of technical and non-technical grants, cooperative agreements and contracts, as well as other supporting documents. The incumbent will also play an active role in the writing and editing institutional proposals, institutional responses to requests for information, institutional reports, and strategic planning documents for the research units.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree in related field.Experience:
3-5 years experience in writing, editing, graphic design and layout conception or comparable experience required.
Must be experienced using computers and various software packages, i.e. WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, VISIO etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Masters degree in related fieldExperience:
5+ years of experience in writing and editing research-related documents i.e. technical publications, grants, reports, is required.

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
Proof-reading and editing technical and non-technical documents including but not limited to grant proposals, cooperative agreements, contracts, manuscripts, and presentations
Reading and editing documents for clarity and for adherence to published guidelines
Assisting in writing and editing proposals for funding to support institutional educational, training, infrastructure, and research efforts
Writing and editing reports for research development activities
Contributing to proposal writing workshops and boot camps and editing products from these sessions
Writing and editing promotional materials, research summaries, posters, reports, program booklets, and web postings prior to release
Creating and updating institutional research capability profiles and research resource pages
Coordinating grant writing projects with principal investigators, external grant-writers, program managers, and research administration leaders
Serving as editor-in-chief of the weekly eResearch Updates
