The Senior Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for Canada Retail Comp payout, analysis and reporting processes, supporting the monthly and quarterly financial compensation cycle and driving regional projects and initiatives, and coordinating regional efforts on process standardization and documentation.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and update compensation letters of sales persons based on the final offer details and any revisions in the agreement initially provided (e.g. Base salary adjustments, guarantee amounts, etc.)
Prepare and upload all monthly accrual journal entries and other adjustments after work area validation
Monthly reporting of Compensation expense variance to plan to be submitted to the Expense Team
Gather, organize sales data and calculate accurately monthly, quarterly and annual incentive compensation. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
Validate the amounts to be submitted to payroll versus the individual statements
Timely and accurate distribution of incentive compensation statements to the sales team
Preparation and distribution of Incentive Run rate reports (Actual vs. Target) to the Heads of each sales team
Strict monitoring of checklists for any movements i.e. recording of new hires, termination, leaves and coverages, changes in sales data, dates and amounts of guarantees, etc.
Initiate improvements by exploring, identifying, and implementing reporting, analysis, and process solutions
Respond to internal ad-hoc requests/queries related to incentive compensation
Works closely with the Director of Field Compensation to ensure a smooth reporting and planning process
Responsible for training back-up resource within the team to ensure continuity of business processes
Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:
University graduate in Accounting/Finance, professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance role, Wealth and Asset Management industry experience an asset
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Knowledge of IFRS tools (Hyperion-Essbase, Lawson)
Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of the business environment and financial reporting structure to provide value-added analysis
Strong attention to detail
Proven ability to thrive in a fast pace, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
Proactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive “can-do” attitude
Ability to identify and investigate complex issues and recommend actionable solutions
Good communication skills; ability to succinctly engage with business partners and team members
