The role also has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.This role will primarily manage the reporting, forecasting, and automation of headcount and operating expense for our Marketing Advertising business, and also help work on ad-hoc initiatives that support our key business goals.Key job responsibilities- Track and explain variances in operating expenses, headcount, and other key cost drivers and work with applicable teams to provide overall controllership.- Drive headcount analytics including job type/level/tech mix, hiring ramp, hiring gap to goal, attrition and transfers.- Track variable productivity and partner with Finance and Business teams to drive efficiency gains.- Drive continuous improvement in headcount/operating expense processes and central controllership.- Partner with business leaders to establish and track performance to goals and initiatives.- Lead our recurring financial review processes, working across multiple stakeholders to identify and aggregate insightful content.A day in the lifeDepending on the time of the year, our Senior Financial Analyst may be working on a variety of items, whether it is our month-end financial reporting package, assisting teams in tracking and updating of key goals prior to senior leadership review, working with our business partners on understanding productivity headcount drivers, and/or helping to kick off a new project to support a key business initiative.About the teamWe are part of the Marketing Finance team, a mix of data engineers, economists, and finance professionals that all work together to help drive our advertising business forward.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Experience working with stakeholders- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis- Knowledge of Tableau- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market.
