Your role as a Senior Facilities Engineer, Electrician: The Facilities Engineer, Electrical Technician performs complex technical work, on a journeyman level, in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures and related electro-mechanical systems, in accordance with applicable Electrical Industry Codes. The Electrician inspects and tests elements of electrical systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions, performs required repairs through replacement of inoperative parts or re-wiring of circuits, and provides an estimate of repair (and/or replacement) costs beyond the capability to perform. The Electrician also calculates branch circuit loads, interprets electrical wiring diagrams and schematics, and determines methods and requirements for wiring circuits. In addition, as an Engineer you will lead general ballpark repairs and special events. This includes working in building trades, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, and mechanical. Additionally, the position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule for events and maintenance, including nights and weekends. All the responsibilities we will trust you with: * Exemplifying our Padres Core Values/Mission Statement: Communication and Collaboration, Progress and Innovation, Accountability and Integrity, and Effort and Results, through building meaningful connections with a diverse fan base and serving as impactful leaders in the San Diego community * Provide prompt, professional and courteous responses to all requests, including those from food and beverage service provider, other contracted building service providers and Ballpark patrons * Assist to ensure compliance with all City, State and Federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards and regulations * Display knowledge of how each of the components in the facility systems relates operationally to one another and has the ability to modify and/or install new system(s), as required * Ability to supervise repairs and installation of new systems within the area of expertise * Identifying the potential causes for failure of a system or systems and recommend repairs process * Order, stock, and inventory parts and supplies as directed by the Director, Facilities Services * Perform preventive maintenance and repair on MSA switchboards, electrical panels, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, power outlets, and lighting * Perform testing with multimeters, voltmeters, amp meters, megohmmeters, and circuit locators. Assist with infrared scanning of electrical switchgear and breaker panels * Perform preventive maintenance on emergency generators and UPS devices * Provide temporary power set up for non-baseball events and concerts * Follow NFPA 70 guidelines for electrical preventive maintenance and safety * Operate, maintain, and perform maintenance and repairs on all electrical and life safety equipment throughout the facility as outlined by Director, Facilities Services including, but not limited to:* Switchboards, breaker panels, lighting relay panels * Lighting, sports lights, advertising signage * Pumps, boilers, air handlers * Life Safety Systems* Act as a first responder to fire alarm signals * Provide assistance to fire department * Assist contractor with periodic testing of fire alarm system * Test fire sprinkler systems * Test smoke fire dampers * Aid in training and development of fellow engineers * Maintain, without flaw or exception, plant logs and files to include, but not limited to:* Boiler room machine logs * Chemical usage logs * Non-company personnel logs * Maintenance of time logs * Operating engineers' logs * Maintain superior appearance and working condition of all the MEP systems assigned to the Engineering Department * Compose written, factual reports of occurrences and incidents on property, including appropriate and prompt completion notices relative to all assigned work orders * Proactively search for opportunities to improve the physical facility, including identifying problem or deficient areas, developing immediate solutions and recommending work flow efficiencies * Proactively recommend opportunities to improve current facility operations, protocols, processes and best practices. This includes suggestions on protocol and process improvement, how work is scheduled and sequenced based on facility use and non-use, budget reduction and savings opportunities, safety suggestions, etc. * Ability to successfully troubleshoot unplanned challenges and offer cost effective, safe, and compliant solutions * Perform all Maintenance in a safe manner and assist emergency authorities and response teams when necessary Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most: * Must be able to: * Read and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form, including shop manuals and drawings * Read and use all types of test equipment, analog digital multi-meters, pressure and temperature indicating and recording devices, air flow measuring devices, and leak detection devices * Knowledge of basic hand tools (i.e., socket sets, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, saws and hammers, etc.) * Knowledge of power tools (i.e., pneumatic, electric or engine drive), drill motors, saws, grinder, impact wrenches, etc. * Maintain calm demeanor in emergency situations * Ability to use deductive logic for troubleshooting equipment * Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint with general knowledge of office equipment, including copier, printer, fax machine, telephone and computers. Experience with building management systems is a plus * Having clear understanding of OSHA regulations and the ability to proactively ensure compliance with such regulations * Experience with LEAN Six Sigma philosophies and practices are a plus * Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner * Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines * Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability * Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance You will be required to meet the following: * Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment * High School Diploma or GED is required * Minimum five (5) years previous experience in Facility Electrical maintenance * CA State Electrician Certificate or C10 license is a plus * Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus * Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. This includes the ability to work Padres home games, non-baseball events, and traditional office hours, whichever is needed at any given time * Able to travel as needed * Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time; position requires standing 100% of the time, the ability to lift and transport 25 pounds or more, climb up and down stairs and ladders, access remote work areas and confined spaces (i.e. crawl spaces, roofs, etc.), and the ability to use full range of manual dexterity (i.e. sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, lifting, and walking) * Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor locations, during a variety of weather situations * As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check Pay and additional compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the base pay range for this full-time position is $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
