DescriptionPosition Overview:The Senior Engineering Manager - Truck Caps & Heavy Truck will be responsible for all product design and engineering functions for RealTruck's ARE-branded fiberglass Truck Caps and Deluxe Commercial Units, and Roadworks/Belmor-branded Heavy Truck products. The Senior Engineering Manager will lead Design Engineering teams, and also collaborate closely with the COE lead, Product Management, Industrial Design, and Manufacturing teams to successfully execute the long term Product strategy. This role will ensure that innovative new products continue to be developed and validated within a customer mindset for features and aesthetics, and within RealTruck's Phase Gate process to meet customer demands for product quality and delivery.Position Responsibilities:Manage several Design Engineering teams; responsibilities will focus on the overall success and productivity of the team, providing direction/mentoring where needed, process documentation and continuous improvement activities that drive higher efficiencies and improved results.Responsible for the oversight of design engineering functions, which include resource management and budgeting, product innovation and concept development, design and release, testing and validation, prototyping, new vehicle application development and release, and the overall successful and timely launch of new programs.Responsible for the oversight of manufacturing engineering functions, which include establishing/refining manufacturing lines and processes, investigating new equipment and potential for improved automation, resolving long standing production process issues, and manufacturing readiness for new product launches.Responsible for weekly reporting and project hour tracking.Support goals, objectives, and assignments as determined by the RealTruck Chief Engineering Officer or Vice President of Engineering.Assess the big picture and drive needed changes to resolve or improve upon the status quo with targeted/measurable results.Coordinate Aftermarket and OEM project priorities with Center of Excellence Lead and Product Management on a weekly basis.Lead and engage in trouble shooting with the team to develop options for success during complex situations.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
