The Opportunity
Reporting into the Vice President of Infrastructure & Operations, the Senior Director Cloud Platform Services will help shape and implement our Cloud Platform offerings, ensuring that our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with our business objectives.
The Role
Solution Architecture:
Manage the development of solution architectures for new IT projects using cloud technologies.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure that cloud solutions align with business requirements and security standards.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inspire creativity in solution architecture.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure cloud initiatives align with overarching architecture principles.
Provide guidance on the integration of cloud technologies into the existing IT landscape.
Integrated Roadmap Development:
Develop a comprehensive integrated roadmap for cloud platforms in a multi-cloud environment.
Collaborate with partners to ensure understanding of business objectives and evolving technology trends.
Inspire creativity and continuous improvement in cloud strategies to enhance organizational efficiency.
Develop plan to lead application hosting from on Prem to cloud platforms (SaaS, PaaS or IaaS).
Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the lifecycle management of cloud technologies, ensuring updates, optimizations, and retirements.
Implement best practices for monitoring, scaling, and optimizing cloud resources to meet performance and cost targets.
Vendor Management:
Contractual ownership for main cloud providers (AWS, Azure)
Manage vendor relationships and ensure that service levels and contractual obligations are met.
SRE and DevOps:
Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps practices.
Integrate SRE and DevOps methodologies into cloud platform management for enhanced reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Hands-on experience with tools commonly used in SRE and DevOps, such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, and others.
Experience fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams to achieve continuous integration, delivery, and deployment goals.
Financial Management:
Responsible for $10million+ cloud platform budget
Maintain FinOps principles to improve cloud spending while ensuring performance and scalability.
Collaborate with finance teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and cost models for cloud initiatives.
Monitor and report on cloud-related financial metrics.
Understanding of the shift from Capex to Opex and able to provide guidance to consumers on the cloud platform.
Team Leadership:
Manage a high-performing team of IT professionals.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Your Skills & Experience
Minimum bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
Master's degree and related certifications desirable.
10-15 years of experience in, health care industry a plus.
Experience (10+ years) in a senior leadership role overseeing cloud platforms in a multi-cloud environment.
Led the transformation of data centers to cloud platforms on a large-scale.
Background in solution architecture, with a focus on cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and best practices.
Engage with all partners.
Demonstrated experience developing integrated roadmaps for cloud platforms.
Understanding of FinOps fundamentals and their application in cloud environments.
