About our TeamThis team uses an advanced Tech Stack to transform the way scholarly publishers bring high-value content to the world. We manage the complexities of modern print and electronic publishing. This is from submission to editorial management and peer review, to production tracking and publishing channel distribution.
About the RoleYou will assist in the design and implementation of a functional and maintainable platform.As a key member of our Submissions Core Platform team, delivering a highly available platform for software solutions.This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in elevating the way that Elsevier products are delivered.
Responsibilities
Building and maintaining well-architected cloud infrastructure, balancing performance and resilience with cost.
Architecting and implementing tools that enable developers to self-serve for operational tasks, enterprise platform tools.
Improving existing Continuous integration and fast feedback loops across multiple product pipelines.
Overseeing the day today remediation of critical issues and determine and implement permanent corrective actions. This includes processes and efficiencies to eliminate therecurrence of the issue.
Requirements
Have current AWS deployment at scale with a high level of architectural understanding of each offering
Able to display current Linux and Windows Server experience at scale. Have CDN and internet networking knowledge
Demonstrate a deep understanding of coding practices and of DRY principles in a language such as Python. Show a high level of skill at writing terraformmodules.
Experience using Git in a team environment. Continuous Integration systems e.g. GitHub Actions
Have the ability to formulate and execute solutions which balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
Experience developing and maintaining secure and compliant environments
