We're looking for a talented lawyer to support our dynamic Amazon Air business, which operates a global air cargo network that includes a fleet of over 100 cargo aircraft serving more than 70 airports in North America, Europe, and Asia. Amazon Air also recently launched a central hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport powered by cutting-edge Amazon Robotics technology that has the potential to grow into one of the most significant facilities of its kind. You'll be embedded with the Amazon Air leadership team, partnering directly with the business working to continually improve the experiences of our customers and optimize the transportation and logistics network. You'll serve as lead counsel on operational, safety, regulatory, and commercial matters, in addition to helping shape longer term strategy and resolving issues that arise in our relationships with airline partners, airports, and other service providers worldwide. You'll develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of Seattle, WA (preferred) or Arlington, VA. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.About the teamWe are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Arlington, VA, USA | Bellevue, WA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA- 10+ years of legal practice experience, with at least 5 years working in the airline/aviation and/or logistics sectors- J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar- A mix of law firm and in-house and/or government experience working in the aviation/ airline and/or logistics sectors on regulatory and/or transactional matters- Experience in representing corporate clients in contract negotiations- Ability to work effectively and demonstrate sound judgment in fast-paced, ambiguous situations- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines- Ability to build rapport with and earn trust of business partners- Strong written and oral communication skills- Strong analytical and computer skillsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $146,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
